Tripping Through Pop Culture: behind the scenes of the Hollywood scenes, with author Sam Maronie!

Here's more of my talk with sci-fi convention photographer, Sam Maronie! Here's a great discussion of his nostalgic inside look at the making of classic Hollywood movies and shows, his new book Tripping Through Pop Culture.
Sam's collected memorabilia (over 50, 000 movie stills!) and a vast array of interviews with some of the behind-the-scenes people who created your favorite cult movies. Lots of books focus on the stars and their dramas-and there are big ones here, like Lynda Carter, and Bob Hope. Martha Raye, and Vincent Price all tour through old school St. Louis, too.
Sam peered under the big top's work tents, you might say. He quickly discovered the crews of many key technical positions crossed over into a fascinating array of projects. This book will make you an instant honorary insider.
If you are a collector, an avid Silver Screen fan, an old film buff, comics lover, or just someone with piqued interest- look for the Joe Phillips cover! You can order from Amazon

Or get a signed one directly from Sam at http://www.sammaroniesentertainmentfunhouse.com !
Get over there and take a look at some of SAm's career highlights.

Here's Sam talking about his debut book:

I got to know Mr. Maronie, or 'the Ape Man' as he's known on the pool hustling side of East St. Louis, as a convention photographer, for an interview about Marvel Con '75, one of his first, if not the first, photo assignment he took on of that sort. You can listen to that one in our December archives! I have more from that interview, too, coming up in our March podcasts. But here, Sam talks about his new book, and the changes in pop culture that made what was disposable now indispensible!
